With only 26 odd minutes into the interview, it has to be said that Freddie Sayers has an incredible grasp on the issues of our day and Richard Dawkins is a can opener, or a tin opener, or even a bottle opener of what has been inside the human brain since the beginning of thought. What I would like to do is throw this into the mix; I don't know if I believe in God or not but I know one thing and that is that it scares me to death to put any of my beliefs in another God-like person or God. What do I mean by that? I mean, I cannot and will not and could never put my faith into what someone else says is the way to live my life no matter how glorious or God-like the person may be. This of course has meant that I have sat on the fence of ever finding a place in a house of worship be it a church, or a synagogue or mosque in which I could find my place. This feeling of relying on my own inner voice or inner self to cut my path through my destiny has not been easy and I have taken many, many wrong turns. But I still maintain that what we are as a human being is all we need to make it in this world, because we are the source of our own belief system; our purpose in life is to follow our instincts and not the words of others who speak in perhaps flowery language and promise eternal life.
