  1. Freddy Sayers does a wonderful job in getting Paul Kingsnorth to explain what drives him in his quest to tell the stories of the people who get pushed to the side, as he puts it. I have to beat my own drum here----but I don't mean to do it other than to point out what I think Paul is fighting against----and that is the capitalism is the reason the world has become a technocracy. We're the best at creating wealth, and gathering material things---even worshipping people who have the most stuff. And: as a result of the economic system running silent and running deep within our societies, the forests, the environment, the human community and human experiences that don't factor in to profit making mentalities get lost in the mix. What's the answer? Paul, I don't say I have the replacement for capitalism, but I have invented an economic model in my book The Treatise of Teknomix where money does not equal power----and it's called teknomix. I believe to see Paul's ideal world come to be; we need an economic system based on exactly what Paul says are being pushed aside in the world we live in. I submit that there may be some principles of teknomix that could be used to build a better economic model where humanity is freed from an economic system that is really feudalism on steroids.
