  1. In all due respect to Mr Lieven and high fives to Freddy for this great interview, retired Lt. General Ben Hodges is on TV almost every other day it seems and he says over and over that Crimea will be in Ukrainian hands mid-August of this year. He also says that Ukraine as a country cannot exist for long if they don't control Crimea for two very good reasons. The coastal cities on the Sea of Azov would never be able to live in peace because of the Black Sea fleet and the ports of Odessa would forever be at the mercy of Russian gun boats from Sevastopol. If General Hodges' assessment isn't star power, then I don't know who to believe. He says over and over that the west wants the Ukraine to win, but it won't give them the weapons they need to win.
