  1. It's a wonderful thing to give money to needy causes, but we have heard so much about how poorly most charities are run. We have heard that if you give 10 euros to help the people in an African country, in reality only 1 euro reaches the people and this might not even be true because the food will often be confiscated by gangs or even government-supported rebels. It's just that it is impossible to know if you're money doesn't end up in somebody else's pocket rather than getting the person in need.
