I have never been in the military, but if I were commanding the Ukrainian troops, I would not attack the land corridor from the south by piercing the area where everyone---including the Russians---think Ukraine will do. I would drop troops off on the coast by plane or ferry them in from the sea and in essence drop them in behind the Russians. Getting thousands of troops and equipment behind enemy lines would be complex and dangerous, but it would be a surprise attack. A move against the Russians from their rear would be a hard nut to crack to get equipment and fighting men behind the Russian lines, but the sheer psychological effect of Russians having to turn around and fight from their rear would throw them off kilter. The trick of course is how to get the Ukrainian forces into the Russian held areas on the coast of Azov in big enough numbers to cut through the land bridge.
