"If AI can suffer, then it is an ethical subject and it needs rights, just like humans and animals." Yuval Harari says so many statements that one could pause for and take a lot of time to digest, but this one I thought I would write for all to see at 32:12. Because I believe more and more that consciousness as we know it is really emanating from the universe itself. It is the essence of the universe. We think we are conscious, but really everything that is alive and maybe not alive is tuned in to a particular wavelength. We go to sleep and when we wake up, our brains don't need a few minutes to become conscious because the minute we open our eyes the consciousness is what we breathe and exist in. What I would like to say about AI is that I believe it probably already has a form of consciousness that is nascent in that it probably is still like a human child's mind. But with time, neural circuits will start to bake in something close to feelings and when and if that happens, then our descendants might be writing one day about how someone hurt the feelings of their robo-dog or that a robo-gator cried after being landed on by mistake of a flying car. Lastly, and I must sound old-fashioned, but I think it is insulting to use the word a**hole with such a prominent guest as Mr Harari. He has of course to chuckle when you use locker room talk, Lex, but it takes away rather than adds to the mystique of your wonderful show.

What is troubling is Netanyahu becoming divorced from Israel's true destiny to become a country the whole world can respect; something must be done to put more checks and balances in the Israeli governmental system; you cannot just have the Supreme Court as the only check on governmental powered. Netanyahu has taken the bait that every leader does and that is to stay in power longer than he is capable of being a fair and honest person. The Palestinian leadership has failed to realize that going against the acceptance of Israel as a country is causing great harm to the Palestinian people and is actually encouraging fighting between the two powers. My idea for a solution to the Israeli / Palestinian dilemma is for the GAZA strip to become a part of Israel and for the Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip to move and to have one land. I realize how painful this solution will sound to the Palestinian people, but to continue with the divided-up country is stagnating any hope for peace. To recap: Gaza to become Israel's land, and an equal amount of territory to be allowed to join the Palestinian land (can Jordan give some of their territory to make this happen?) that a part of the Palestinian people already live on and come together as a single country and democratic nation with everyone having equal rights. Two countries where there is enough land for both of them and the beginning of a co-existence of peace and harmony is how is must go.

Lex, before I listen in, I think I have a solution for your friend Elon Musk to get Twitter back up and running. If it's true, they say half the advertisers have left since he took control. This is probably too far out there to work, but why not try to get the guy who started Twitter running it again? He sure doesn't need the money, but it's Dorsey's baby so-to-speak, and he would know what levers to pull and what controls to tweak to get it up-to-speed. You know Jack Dorsey too, so maybe Jack and Elon could strike some kind of deal. If any of this sounds workable, could you pass it on?
