I only have one vicarious UFO experience. It was the early 70s and I was living in Montego Bay, Jamaica. I met a retired sailor at the bar one day and he invited me to his house and when we were in the living room, I noticed a lot of books on UFOs. Being curious, I asked him why he had so many books. He told me that one time when he was on guard duty at night on a ship that was crossing the ocean he was at the helm with the captain. No one else was on duty. Suddenly in looking up he saw a cigar-shaped craft flying directly over the tanker; it kept going out to the horizon until they couldn't see it anymore. When it was gone, he looked over to the captain and said "Boy, are they going to be surprised when we tell everyone what we saw." The captain looked at him and said "We didn't see anything. Are you crazy? If we told anyone we saw that UFO we'd never work in shipping again."
