What we have to realize is unmistakable and irreversible is that the Ukrainian war has changed the world's mindset both for militaries across the globe and for people in their living rooms who have seen more people killed on camera than in some Hollywood films. Suddenly, it's a new world out there. Men have a new mission in life; be in tune with the progress going like mad on all fronts. Women have found themselves in a world where they are as adept on the battlefield as in the command module of a spaceship and this has meant that what it means to be a man and a woman has made raising children into a new domain. And: children are paying the price because they are getting technology shoved down their throats and being babysat by smartphone movies being played in their prams and mothers and dads with their heads plunged into their smartphones as the kids in the park see them now as phantom parents. High tech, drones, AI are fine, but we had better realize that the drip down side-effects of all of the newness in machine learning that is making our cityscapes into herds of humans wandering around lost in their tiny screens is making our kids into a new kind of human being that perhaps we had better take more time to ponder on.
