  1. The most striking part of Phil's excellent vocast is at 8:22 when the German Chancellor says that Russia 'will not win' the war in Ukraine. We can listen to leaders of countries throw their support behind President Zalensky and the Ukrainian people, but when the German Chacellor says that Russia will not win, that is like saying Putin will be defeated. Full stop. A German leader saying those words means the whole of Germany will do everything in its considerable power to stop the Russian war machine in its tracks. Russia will not be allowed to annexe territory from a sovereign state. Experts say the war will go on until at least the year's end and my guess is that there will be an end to it by Easter of 2023.
