First, I would like to wish Yanis Varoufakis a very Happy New Year 2022 for him and his family and his colleagues and the human family. Thank you Yanis for spending what surely amounts to countless hours of your personal time on your research and you’re writing and on giving speeches into trying to find a better way for all of us to live. The world owes you a bouquet of thanks for your tireless efforts to show us what really is going on behind the smoke and mirrors of capitalism.

Yanis, are you the person that could end the conflict in the middle east between two great peoples, The Palestinians and the Israelis? I believe you are one of the only people in the world who can make this eternal conflict go away. I am sure that Prime Minister Netanyahu would listen to you. The Palestinians would listen to you and they could be made to see why they must accept Israel as a country. You talk in government-speak in practically everything that draws your attention---and the world listens. Why not move to Israel or go there and set up some sort of permanent committee for long-lasting negotiations until a deal is hammered out and people can get on with their lives? People listen to you because you see through the fluff and right into the heart of the matter. Give us your thoughts on how you would solve the problem between these opposing forces. My view is that the Palestinians need to live on one patch of land. Jimmy Carter said the Gaza strip was a concentration camp, why not move the Palestinians from this place and have land given to them in exchange where they could have their own country?

The thing that doesn't add up to me is why Julian Assange did not go back to Sweden and confront the women who accused him of rape. Yanis, it doesn't make sense. If he was innocent, he would have been cleared. He also only released e-mails by American officials, why? Why wouldn't he also have released Russian and Chinese e-mails? Releasing sensitve, private and secret information undoubtedly sent secret agents to their early deaths. If he could get American e-mails he surely could have gotten e-mails from other countries. It looks like he was a stooge for the adversaries of America. Where are his backers now? Why aren't America's adversaries offering him asylum? No one wants Julian Assange to be in jail if he doesn't deserve it, but didn't Assange give a lot of people reason to believe he was guilty of quite a few things? Hiding away in the consulate for years was off-the-charts and only caused the poor guy to lose his mental balance, why didn't he come clean? This case will baffle the world forever.

In all due respect to one of the most humanitarian voices in the world Slavzu Zizek, we have to ask why Assange only published secret government e-mails from The United States. If he had done the same to America's adversaries it would have been a slam dunk case of discrimination, but no; Assange only let hundreds of thousands of top-secret e-mails go on the internet knowing the secret agents would be exposed and probably eliminated. Not only that; why on Earth did Assande not go back to Sweden to clear his name from the rape case that was brought against him? If he was innocent he would have done everything in his power to negate the criminal charges against him. Everyone wants Assange free, but one feels he is hiding something. Why doesn't he cough up what he really knows?

Dear Mr Varoufakis, I think I speak for many people when I say you are one of the most fascinating people in the world. Not only are you an economist who speaks truth to power, but you are a compassionate man dedicated to making this a better world. I hear you loud and clear about Mr Assange's treatment, and if it is true that he is being mistreated, this is a wrong that must be addressed. But what I don't understand about Mr Assange, and what frankly makes me weary of showing pity for his present state of affairs is why on earth did he not go back to Sweden to clear his name of rape charges? If he's so righteous and wanting to show the world the evil empire America is to him, why not show he is innocent? The next thing I don't understand is why didn't he also show Russian or Chinese e-mails of supposed wrong-doing by those governments? Lastly, by him dumping classifed e-mails on the internet, weren't secret agents planted in hostile regime-countries exposed and probably eliminated? Yanis, I don't want to do anything but see all of the facts before I judge anything, but the Assange case is hard to get one's head around. But of course, we all wish him well and asap out of jail and back to a normal life. Be well and keep up the good work!
