  1. Vice Marshal Sean Bell must be wishing he could be among the first UK planes going out in sorties to defend the beleaguered Mariupol and the coastal region of Ukraine. What is becoming more and more apparent is that the Ukraine is becoming--in the words of General (ret.) Patreaus of the United States---as Ukraine's Alamo. This must not happen in my estimation. Mariupol is the keystone city of the Ukraine, because if it falls then Kiev will be easy prey. I am sure that Vice Marshall Bell agrees with me that we must do everything in our power to ensure that Mariupol remains in Ukrainian hands and that Odessa does not fall under Russian control either. We have to begin accepting that there are two scenarios being drawn up by the Russians. One thing I think we may see is a catastrophic false flag event that Russia blames on Ukraine and then uses weapons of mass destruction. The second thing I think Putin is counting on is for the UK and its allies to join the fighting. Then once more, he can justify using weapons systems that will make conventional arms look tame in comparison. Putin is now an international pariah and that is why this war has now reached a very dangerous point and why all of us should prepare for it coming to our countries
