The Ukrainian counter offensive is going slowly because the Ukrainians have their hands tied behind their backs in the sense that without air support to knock out Russian positions and artillery, the Ukrainians have to fight without a major element in their arsenal. The counter offensive can only go slowly, because the Russians have air superiority.
