I think I speak for many people in the UK and others like myself living outside the UK when I say how thankful and appreciative, we are to have tuned in to Sky News from the beginning of the war to hear Michael Clarke and people like retired Vice-Admiral of the Airforce Sean Bell and other top-notch strategists, historians and military officers' expert analyses. Professor Clarke has to be one of the most knowledgeable and experienced war analyst and historian in the world. For the better part of a year, he has consistently explained the various aspects of the conflict with astounding clarity and he doesn't mince his words. His riveting narrative in describing the day-to-day operations and evaluations of the war in Ukraine have brought us all up-to-speed over and over again about what exactly it means to fight a war and how strategies on both sides of the conflict play out. What I take home from the growing conflict in the Ukraine and which is frightening to me is that what I think we are going to see is the first year of fighting will pale in comparison as to what is coming in the second year of the war. Will President Putin snare us all into an all-out battle for the soul of Europe and the free world? That is the burning question I think even Professor Clarke has on his mind too.
