Warren Buffett and Charlie will be remembered for their wisdom, humility and grace. Buffett says he thinks the purpose of life (or something to that effect) is going to bed at night a little wiser than when you got up in the morning, and when you think of it, that does make a day look like more like a learning adventure that we are on for every day we are alive. What the debt cieling tells me that Warren and Charlie I am sure would never agree to is that consumer capitalism may be an economic system that makes sense if you put your whole life into making money and dedicate as much of your time as possible to increasing your personal wealth, but it rings hollow as far as getting everyone of the human community on the same page. Capitalism fails miserably at solving poverty and is really a caste system in disguise. There shouldn't be terms like, rich person, poor person. It is degrading to think we value others by what they own instead of who they are as people. As far enhancing the human experience goes, capitalism seems to have the same effect on people as organized religion; you are in one sect or another, one social class or another because of an artificial belief system that is all about power. We need an economic system where money does not equal power, because to spend one's life on the treadmill of making money means one loses out on one's purpose in life and that purpose is to enjoy life.
