  1. It's great to see you shining a light on Governor DeSantis' against-the-prevailing-winds governing style. As an overseas viewer, I was struck by how the Prime Minister of New Zealand shut the whole country down after one case of Covid-19 Delta was discovered. The whole country. To hear that 25 thousand people have tested positive in Florida not only in one day, but almost every day does not compute with how Governor DeSantis is analyzing the data. What I always do is to break it down to is how terrible it is for just one patient to be in an ICU unit--I'm only telling what I've heard---and having to make the final realization things are really bad when he or she is told they have to insert a breathing tube down their throat. David, can any of us imagine how scary and appocalyptic one would feel being intubated? This is just one case, and what is it? 80% of intubated patients don't make it back. It is beyond belief that in America's greatest hour of need--in this case 20 months--the level of incompetence in elected officials is beyond the pale. All we can hope for is that people who aren't vaccinated realize that Covid-19 Delta is a non-starter.
