And for all those “Carbon Footprint” naysayers out there, there’s a Bucyrus-Erie model 1850-B electric shovel on display in SE Kansas that—at one time was the largest ELECTRIC shovel in the world. Ironically it dug coal in a strip mine back in the 60s and 70s.

@lotharschiese8559 Agreed, but the irony of it is —it dug coal and it probably took coal energy to forge the steel it was made of.

@Bellboy40 we got to good see Big Brutus for the first time a couple of years ago after having seen it in the distance a few times. Impressive is not a big enough word to describe it.
