  1. I’m sure someone with more plumbing experience will correct me but is a trap for the drain really needed? It opens to daylight so I can’t see how sewer gases will be a problem. Additionally water rushing by from the downspouts during a heavy rain will probably create enough siphon to draw any trapped water out. I think that trap is going to be a clog problem more than anything. Noticeably missing are clean outs.
