I’m glad they’re still made in the US.

I wouldn’t cut into the wall to install doors and windows; frame up a wall just inside the existing door to install your man door and windows. At the end of the day close the big doors and you’re secure. I’m guessing the water was condensation which should go away with insulation and venting.

I did not realize it had taken 4 years from the first shove to the last nail. Wow.

At todays lumber prices, I’m not even trying to salvage the garbage lumber for stairs or anything else.

Why not soak the end of the hammer in BLO instead of antifreeze?

See that’s just it—What kind of value are you getting in return? You said it right at the end of the video “ When you turn around and look at those things, yup it was worth it.” We must also take into account the visual appeal and that can be difficult. If every time you pull into the drive you think to yourself how those overhangs make you feel then it’s worth it. In the end this house belongs on that lot and those overhangs complete the house.

That crane gets a workout and I can see why.

Anybody else notice when they were on the lowest tier of the roof their tether was so long it wouldn’t have stopped them before they hit the ground?

Awesome! Be a sponge.

One gets the impression you like square concrete stakes. 😂

You found your mistake and corrected it. Thanks for sharing maybe you’ll help prevent someone else from making the same mistake.

I can tell you from personal experience the corrosion of uncoated fasteners in pressure treated wood is real. I don’t know if moisture needs to be present but if it does it’s a very small amount and treated wood certainly has moisture—also there’s usually enough residual moisture left in the concrete to get a small amount of condensation.

As a customer: when I look for a contractor (besides references and past work) I consider the vehicle he’s driving when he shows up to estimate the job. If it’s a well maintained older truck I feel like he’s a responsible, frugal person. If it’s the latest overpriced, Cummins powered, six pack duely I might raise an eyebrow as to what his priorities are. As far as your Dave Ramsey comment—100% a believer, I’m recently retired with a nice home and two vehicles all paid for.

Progressive? Thats a nice way of putting it.

Shut the front door!

Hey who guessed the second fall correctly? I saw your markers out there.
1
Technique, you thought of a technique vs hack.
1
I missed it, what happened to the Tool Tank?
1
Lil Stack'n I’m not saying you’re wrong but something doesn’t make sense here. You say you have more work than workers yet for the work that needs to be done you say people are under paid? Seems like if there’s a worker shortage more pay and benefits would be offered.

I assume this house was finished sometime ago, how did the rising cost of materials effect the original price that was quoted?
1
Interesting they don’t use an auger. Nice seeing a crew that is experienced enough to just get to work. They know their jobs and get at it without having to talk to each other.
1
That crane is probably the best purchase you’ve ever made.

I absolutely hate those humps in front of the door for drainage. I misstep or roll my ankle on those stupid things every time. Pour the concrete at the same level all the way across and slope it away evenly. Otherwise, nice work.
