We only need 12 members of cabinet, the rest of the every day decision making needs to be undertaken by the public electronically. This outdated system of representation was needed when our MPs travelled to London by horse. We now have the technology to do away with this abused and ineffective system of governance.

  20. Really fumbled arrest. The police were so concerned with keeping him in a stress position even after cuffed and secured that they screwed up the charge! This is how people get off these charges again and again through Police failings. Probably one of the most important arrests of that officers career, you’d think he would have been prepared. This horrific murder was only able to take place because Police sit in cars and do not police on foot. They have no idea what is going on in a community by sitting in a car on their phones and not specially aware.

The police in the UK need to be on the beat learning their neighbourhoods and interacting with the public, instead we have a police force that allows crime to happen and then reacts. This is not good enough and we need a real shake up. We do not need more officers we just need to get them out of their cars and sack lazy overweight officers at all levels.

If she promised to turn the social system into a coupon based system so money can’t be sent abroad then I think it would have some merit. We all know why the majority of the immigrants head to UK, it’s for the money and the soft touch system we operate. We need to ensure benefits are not exchangeable for cash and most certainly can’t be sent abroad. Our economy would recapture a large percentage of benefits if they were paid back into the UK market.

  46. The UK police should never carry guns. They do not posses the skill set to be armed. This was shown by the prancing firearms officer on London Bridge. He was in a fight or flight mode and should never have been cleared to carry a weapon. If the police force requires armed officers they should be recruited from the military and have a detailed background of their active service then undergo a transition training period to adjust to civilian weapon regulations.

  49. Because he lacks any real world experience he doesn’t realise that cancelling a section of this project renders the rest of it useless. All the projections and investigations into how this system would be economically viable when operating have now been compromised. This will not be profitable route any longer. The lowering of freight capacity will continue to keep the A1 and M1 congested forever. This really was a dumb move. What he should have done is recruit an elite team of forensic accountants and gone after all the companies that have laundered millions through this project.
