  1. Sadly this is still occurring today. Procurement in the UK today is still done today by senior officer who haven’t been on the frontline for years and have a very limited knowledge of commercial contract management. So today we have fault riddled submarines(Astute) with a lack of bulkheads, therefore survivability, Typhoon fighters that were out of date before production started, F35s that were overpriced and grounded due to faults and aircraft carriers that can’t get past the Isle of Wight. Yet all responsible will still be knighted. We need a massive shakeup of the system. A start would be to return to a republic.
