  1. Gustav whitehead beat them by three years. The Wright brothers first filmed flight wasn’t of thee first flight it was of their second Wright flyer, they lied. Whitehead is now officially recognised as the first powered flight. This has been proven as there was a reporter and a lawyer present along with 20 other spectators. The wrights even visited him when they heard about his numerous flight to get access to his engine. All replicas of his aircraft have flown, where as none of the original design replicas of the wrights have ever, the only one that has is the Wright flyers second aircraft that was featured in the film. This actually flew for the first time in 1906, so Gustav actually beat them by 6 years!
