If there was no gun found then the police had other methods of arresting him. Only when a weapon is seen can deadly force be used. This is a bad shooting. There is a gung-ho attitude in the armed response force. To get a confirmed kill is a badge of bragging rights. This needs to stop. We need a police force that is educated to the required standards. The eduction entry level is too low at the moment and this is beginning to show. These armed “officers” are not military trained and have not seen combat. They must be used as an absolute last resort. It would be better to use military personnel who have the training and intellect of knowing what is proportionate.
