I very much doubt it. MI6 is notoriously poor at intel prediction. The Russians have more money than the UK and US put together. They also have a better standing in the world where it counts due to a mature foreign policy and politicians. We have Boris Johnson who welcome Russian billionaires into London were they then had access to the worlds largest money laundering operation. We have brought this on ourselves with weak leadership.
