  1. Gustav Whitehead a German made the first powered flight in 1900. It’s a commons American myth. Gustav had made numerous flights with witnesses and newspaper reporters present. The Wright brothers film shows their second aircraft built in 1908. The Wright first unsuccessful 1908 flight was hushed up by the brothers and they refused to show any proof until 1908 when they had really made their first flight.
