The need to be free is irrepressible. Solidarity to Belarus.

My spider sense is telling me you don't have a spider sense.

@emm_arr If Lukashenko had faked his victory by a more believable margin, and reached out to the Opposition in a show of magnanimity, he could probably have weathered this really easily. I guess if you never have to fight a fair election, it's easy to wind up getting desperately out of touch with your people.

@1luarluar1 Deeper down the FSB's misinformation rabbithole? No thanks.

@1luarluar1 Dear heaven. I thought I had a habit of writing posts that were just a little too long. Your post reads about as smoothly as the Unabomber's manifesto. You seem to think you're some sort of major world-class intellect for having figured out that the US is a superpower with a chequered past. What seems to have escaped your notice is that while the US may be flawed, its rivals (whose interests you are serving) are much, much worse. Russia is far worse, far more destructive to the world than the US.

@1luarluar1 "I don't defend the Russians" - that's the beauty of their divisive strategy - you don't have to defend them. You just have to beat on their enemies harder, and take a hammer and chisel to the American-centred world-order, starting with organisations like the UN and working your way outwards.

@1luarluar1 Russia, without a doubt. American bases are a bit of a red herring for people like you - most of the countries hosting American bases asked to have them, to help protect their territory. Being a part of the US sphere of influence helps smaller Pacific nations protect themselves against the growing power of China, for example. I'm not saying the US isn't somewhat of an imperialist power - but I am saying that they haven't recently annexed Crimea, or sent armed insurgents across the border to pose as dissident forces in Ukraine, or paid bounties for dead soldiers. Russia has done all of those things.
