Starting to hear a lot more people complaining about Rishi Sunak personally, and saying they're disappointed with him, when out and about. At first they were just annoyed with the Tories in general, and would bring up Liz Truss or Boris Johnson. Now it's become abundantly clear that Rishi does not represent a significant change of pace for the Tories, people are turning against him as well. To be clear, this is not that they have developed an appetite for a second Johnson premiership. They are still angry with him over Partygate and his general corruption. For me, it's become clear that there is no way out for the Conservative party. We are on the cusp of a major realignment of British politics, where the Tory party ceases to be a relevant force.

Tories were promising that the good times were coming, we just had to be patient, in 2010. And in 2015. And in 2016. And in 2017. And in 2019. And now again in 2023. So I ask you, where are they? When is "soon"?

@rodpickard1763 Even in the safest of seats, on current polling, the Tories are in jeopardy. If they are reduced to double digits, their party is effectively finished as a political force, reduced to an extremist rump that will never appeal to voters.

@tomsheppard378 Lies, damned lies, and statistics. The UK is the only G7 economy to have contracted. Green shoots of recovery? Only for the profiteering fossil fuel cartel.
