Given that Mrs May's deal was voted down three times, and she hadn't: - already kicked out over 20 members of her own party, - illegally prorogued Parliament, - made a general clown of herself on the world stage, I really fail to see how Johnson expects to get a better result. Especially since his contribution to the "deal" is to completely sell out on the DUP - whose votes he still needs.

@brucerosner3547 The only people who think an extension is off the table is Boris and his cabinet of fools. Actually, I correct myself, they know perfectly well it's on the table, but it's not politically expedient for them to acknowledge that fact.

Juncker is about the only EU figure I find myself wincing at, when I see his name in the news. He consistently rattles his sabre, and issues threats that are beyond his power to enforce. Happily, he is to be replaced by a much more conciliatory figure in the next few months, thanks to the last EU elections.
