  1. While I admire and love what these people are doing, I think it's tragic that the neighbourhoods where white people like me live, are not safe for them. They shouldn't have to seek refuge on the fringes, to be safe from us. That goes for us here in the UK, and double for cities and suburbs across the US.

I think we can acknowledge two things simultaneously: that these people are role models for proactively creating solutions to their own problems - and that they shouldn't have to in the first place. We should be able to live in a society where black people do not live in perpetual danger from the police, or from their white neighbours. I for one don't want to live in a monochrome future.
