Aka global warming, a transitional stage to an uninhabitable planet...

@albertchehade9916 And we're causing a temperature rise that would normally take hundreds of thousands of years to take place - all in the span of a single human lifetime. Earth's ecosystems just don't have time to adjust. And for Pete's sake. Nobody's saying "a single lifeform" did it. Try an entire 7 Billion of them, PLUS all their domesticated animals, PLUS all the forests they've felled, PLUS all the fossil fuels they've burned (releasing masses of carbon into the atmosphere). I think there are neutron stars that might be denser than your reasoning, but I wouldn't like to stake my life on it.

@Hawk Watch No, but we're still set to see a bigger rise in temperature than would normally take place over tens or hundreds of thousands of years. Also, I trust it hasn't escaped you that fossil fuel consumption has accelerated significantly in the last hundred years or so...

@The Controversial Gamer To be honest, normally I'd disagree with such a bleak viewpoint, but the existence of such godawful blinkered perspectives as I've seen on this thread makes me almost want to share that view.

@albertchehade9916 Did I upset the 3% of scientists who dispute global warming? I can live with that.

@albertchehade9916 Um. Actually. We're already living with the consequences of climate change. Just ask the Great Barrier Reef. Oh wait you can't. It's mostly dead now.
