  1. Working in the industry for quite a while now, I can guarantee that there is a real gap between what (most ignorant) politics want and what manufacturers can or will do. EV's are part of a (small) begining of an answer, but it's absolutely not what they are trying to sell to people (that it will save the earth). Nor is the fuel cell technology (which doesn't even work in cold). We may stop burning dinausors bones but I think we won't be stopping burning stuff right away, because there are other fuels, alternatives etc. One day we will probably switch for something different, but now, stopping internal combustion engines in 10 years, yeah not gonna happen. Imagine yourself being on the table under a surgeon scalpel, "oh yeah we lost the patient because the backup fuel cell generator took 30 minutes to turn on, too bad". Because the future is very blurry, for now I still enjoy my old timers, maybe I will still be able to do it in the coming decade, or at least I'll tell my children some funny stuff from my youth
