Keyser Sรถze โThe alchemist knew the legend of Narcissus, a youth who daily knelt beside a lake to contemplate his own beauty. He was so fascinated by himself that, one morning, he fell into the lake and drowned. At the spot where he fell, a flower was born, which was called the narcissus.
But this was not how the author of the book ended the story.
He said that when Narcissus died, the Goddesses of the Forest appeared and found the lake, which had been freshwater, transformed into a lake of salty tears.
"Why do you weep?" the Goddesses asked.
"I weep for Narcissus," the lake replied.
"Ah, it is no surprise that you weep for Narcissus," they said, "for though we always
pursued him in the forest, you alone could contemplate his beauty close at hand.
""But..... was Narcissus beautiful?" the lake asked.
"Who better than you to know that?" the Goddesses said in wonder, "After all, it was by
your banks that he knelt each day to contemplate himself!!"
The lake was silent for some time. Finally it said: "I weep for Narcissus, but I never
noticed that Narcissus was beautiful. I weep because, each time he knelt beside my banks, I could see, in the depths of his eyes, my own beauty reflected." โ- Prologue , The alchemist.

Stop blaming the gov't??? So they will continue to do nothing??? To all those appeasers that keep spitting their pathetic call forย patience and praising these pathetic gov't response, do you people have hearts??? Are you enjoying seeing dead people everywhere for freaking five days??? survivors wandering like zombies nowhere to go?? people begging for water and food? children wet and crying?, survivors dying? chaos and looting??? I know this calamity is freaking enormous! Yes, I agree with the gov't its a massive catastrophe! What is the gov't response to this massive catastrophe??? send in the cabinet members??? Blame the local officials (survivors, shocked and reeling from the 195mph winds) for not answering coherently??? Once theyve seen the catastrophic aftermath of the storm, they should have sent in the marines or army and put the affected area under Martial Law!( Last time I checked in wikipedia, armed forcesย 220,000 strong and 270,000 reserve. PNP 140,000 personne)l. They should have sent 5,000 t0 10,000 boots on the ground from surrounding provinces, islands not so affected by the typhoon. Heck, Mayor Duterte was able to bring in volunteers on Monday! Even a priest on his motorcycle reached Quezon City Sunday after leaving Leyte Friday! Gov't could have ordered other Mayors from sorrounding provinces to help and rescue.
NO EXCUSE for a slow response!
