I'm so sorry that your family have chosen to treat you that way, but I'm so happy for you that you managed to get yourself out.

@McTaco Actually, no. I'm unconvinced by claims that any god or gods exist because of the lack of evidence. Therefore I do not believe in any god or gods. I do not, however, claim that no god or gods exist. 😊
2
@McTaco I haven't made any claim, loose or otherwise. I've already pointed out why your 'evidence' is nonsensical. I'm amazed you haven't resorted to the classic 'you just have to have faith' argument yet.

@juice7546 Atheism is incredibly easy to justify, it's an answer to one question. 'Do you believe in a god or gods?' If your answer is 'no' (and mine is), you're an atheist.

@McTaco If you have ever had someone gossip about you and twist your words, you may understand that people can do the same to unicorns. You are still real, and so are they. Now explain why your argument about your god is more valid than my argument about unicorns.
1
@McTaco But you are making a claim that your god exists...
1
@McTaco 'Random' was your choice of terminology, not mine. What a deliciously thinly veiled argument from personal incredulity. 😊

@McTaco And by your own logic, that intelligent being must have been given that capacity by an even more intelligent being. Not a trick question - how do you know a clock has a maker?
1
@McTaco So you've said an intelligent being must have a more intelligent creator, and then instantly negated that by saying that your god doesn't need a creator. That's called special pleading. You know a clock has a maker because you're at least vaguely familiar with the process, or you've seen similar mechanisms in other devices. You know an essay has a writer because you've probably written one yourself. But you've never seen another universe come into existence. That's the difference. There's no frame of reference. I'm not taking on anything, I'm simply saying, show me the evidence. Nothing you've put forward so far cuts it.
1
@McTaco Oh, and I don't 'know' a person is writing to me. I've seen AI that could put forward a more convincing argument with fewer fallacies tbh.
1
@McTaco How is it rational to believe in something without evidence?
1
@McTaco No petal, you're making the claim, not me. I'm not saying there's no such thing. I'm saying, if you say there is, prove it.
