@TreyRoque I personally feel my soul crushed harder in a sea of identical cul-de-sacs, especially trying to walk from a house in one to a local shop.

@Vespuchian Stalin actually famously took some projects past their deadline because of demanding beauty. Like the subway stations built under him. When you get further out of the city centre and the subway becomes more utilitarian, that's Kruschev. I've seen some people refer to some of those opulent buildings as "Stalin's cathedrals".

Yeah, something I've seen people bring up about the mikrorayon was how there was green space between apartments and not so crowded as to stop sunlight getting in, with the subway station right in the centre, itself like a little park in terms of the green space around the entrance. Of course private developers are filling in more and more of that green space, and some homes are now always in shadow from a more recently built taller apartment right next door.
