  1. It is market jargon that helps to keep the conversation simply in a very complex field. The chips do not actually have 7nm transistors as that would name molecular scale devices. Do not be so harsh when having these conversations about chips. It is just good communications description to say nano meter.

  2. The European company you are alluding to is ASML that operates on US licences and have US clearance to use that US technology.

  7. The US can produce those chips all by themselves if they so desire. Right now the US has world set up through technology so as to give those various countries a partnership. Hence why some will have specialised deals.
