So how are these robots going to buy products and services?

German for several decades has not been at population replacement rate. A 25% reduction in population of workers is going to cause chaos.
4
@Vmurmur How does automation buy products.
4
@thermite547 Once a decline starts it will cause instability which will feed into the decline and so on. In a normal economy that has a stable population an economic crisis has a balance which is a productive population that can buy and produce.

What is there positive to say about a European demographic collapse?

None of that will counter the collapse in European market activity.

@TheMrCougarful Sorry but no consumer no production. It is not a technical problem it is a lack of people. Germany has to shrink its production to match consumption.

@Ramirez83786 The low birth rate has been at play for 50 years.
2
@Vmurmur But how does that automation production help Germans economy
2
@thermite547 How is he not the best with China. They are now in financial turmoil and are going to have series of crises.
2
@JasperElvenSky How does that apply to Germany.

Swiss economy has been jointed to the EU for too long.

@a5cent There are about 14 million 50 to 60 year olds and only 8 million 40 to 50 year olds to replace them. Germany since 1970 has had a birth rate below population replacement. The evidence is there but people just want to pretend it is not happening. The thing is it is happening.

Prediction? Germany has not been having children at a replacement rate for 50 years in the next decade the cost of that comes into effect. There is going to be escaping it.

@ssssaa2 Argentina and Turkey will be ok on their own but will never carry the EU.
1
@decemvre That makes no sense. German supply and demand cannot be outsourced or immigrated.

@decemvre Japans demographic collapse has not yet played out and they may have bought time but still have a price to pay.
