  2.  @patrickweaver1105  All that chip fab is based on US technology. Even ASML functions on that US infrastructure. The chips that everybody seems to think is so special is fundamentally a 60 year old US technology.

  3. TMSC exist on a licence agreement where the US state department gives permission. RISC processing is a US developed system.

  4.  @douglassun8456  That is an overly simplistic model that Peter uses to give a 50000 feet view of the industry. So it is an industry based on simplistic chips, moderately complex, complex and then very high end. Taiwan is in the moderately complex end.

  6.  @AnimaChronix3  ASML are a conglomerate that were allowed to buy US companies. They have permission from the US government to operate. The irony of all of this is the fact all of you are using a US system to argue that the US is not advanced.

  7.  @patrickweaver1105  They are the only realistic CISC fabrication in town. RISC platforms designed in the west and cheaply manufactured in Asia are not going to cut it.
