Sweden had industry but it was not a modernised industrial country like the US, UK and Germany. It did not become a western industrial country until post 1930s.

@petergrandien1440 Having a successful business or individual does not make a country industrial. Sweden by US and UK comparison became industrial in the 1930s.

@ordningsmannen The main point was that Sweden did not start to become industrialised as a state/culture until the 1930s. Take the UK for example it had engineering works mass producing in every town in the 1800s which was not the case in Sweden. I think this is the point every body misunderstands with what Zeihan talks about.
