That’s what happens when an economy is centrally planned. There is not engine to drive jobs so that young people get a start in life.

It’s the middle of summer the place should be buzzing right now.

It is better to rebuild and go through hardship than to replace an entire culture that will change a place. That is just reality. Countries that do replace a population with outsiders tend not to survive.
7
But a country/culture has to have a replacement generation or it all stops. That is just reality.

@BasePuma4007 Such changes have to be slow and gradual to allow those coming in to assimilate. Trying to do it in 10 years is a disaster in the making.
4
@jkin1447 What makes you think a society can just replace its lack of children with foreign cultures?
3
It has nothing to do with women’s education.

Robots cannot consume. But where do people think the capital is going to come from to develop and build the robots?
2
@jacobjones630 America is not changing its population as fast as you think nor does it need migration to create a future generation.
2
@marcobonesi6794 3 million being brought into the system will not generate a capital base for pensions. That will be the mistake that Italy makes. Korea may attempt the same thing but it does not work.
2
@tigna7548 It is not a prediction. Italy has only half the workers coming through to replace the more mature cohort. That is a fact not a prediction.
2
Cell phones are the least of worries. Housing development was more important but all of you through the mandate of government decided to use trillions in economic productivity for policy that limited houses and development. When was the last Germany town or village designed and incorporated?
1
@gshann73 The global state of economics is not based on growth it is based stability in that there must be an equal number of replacements.
1
@christopherwhull Summer should be a buzzing season in an an active city.
1
Finland already has that stable population that means they have a replacement generation. Italy has 10 million mature workers but only 5 million to replace them. We have got to have babies to survive.
1
@michaeldeierhoi4096 America, France, Finland, Sweden, Ireland and UK have stable populations in the northern hemisphere. They have all created replacement generations.

@iNDREI_Ro What is a wage gap?
1
Many places have past the point of a solution 30 years ago.
1
The best incentive is the free market that is not regulated by national departments.
1
@scopscorpion Can you name those non centrally planned economies first us to examine.
1
@dylanbuchanan6511 There is not going to be supply of goods and services as there will not be a working class. There will be high demand but no products. Think of pandemic lack of supply. Now consider there is no solutions to it. There will be extremely high inflation. Governments will start to throw the kitchen sink at it but nothing will work as there will not be enough workers.
1
Every body will suffer not just the working class. The rich that see the writing on the wall and act early will be ok but there are not too many doing that.
1
The irony is that Australia has lots of space. Italy has it as well but had several decades of no building because of regulations.
1
No. If Italy needs 10 million economic elements (people) to create both consumption and production but only has 5 million it will cause a collapse to services at every level. GDP will be cut in half on paper but in reality it could be a ten fold decrease in certain sectors.
1
@jkin1447 How does immigration help demographics?
1
@AP-iu2ty I do not have a problem with immigration. The issue is that governments have a policy of migration settlement that is going to destroy most countries cultures.
1
Young people are needed to keep an economy functioning. To give you an example it only has 5 million under twenties to replace 10 million mature workers. That means those young people will need to be four times more productive to replace that older cohort.
1
@dachiarchvadze 10 million from 40 to 60 with a large proportion being around 60 years of age. 5 million under 20 years of age. There is about 2.5 million 59 to 64 year olds and only half that number of 10 to 15 year olds.
1
@andreirazvan6051 I suspect we are all about to witness a global Great Depression with the US being the only real driving force on the other side of it. I think we are now past the point of your responsibility expectation in terms of producing results but such a depression might kick start responsibility.
1
@andreirazvan6051 Most European countries have a public pension system that is suppose to be contribution based and growth makes up for the payments. They just do not have population foundations to keep such a system. France, Finland, UK, Ireland and Sweden do have a population structure.
1
99% of the world is un occupied. 1000 years ago there was plagues, famines, wars and they had children.
1
The UK just voted in labour who will drive the economy backwards.
