You are aware that the US - literally - bombed North Korea into oblivion, in the 1950, are you ? 20 - 25 % of the population died due to the bombings. All cities (all of them !) were destroyed. And I think also a lot of SK cities (it might have been slightly less awfull. - I recommend Col. Lawrence Wilkerson, former Chief of Staff under Colin Powell - there is an interview (around April 2017) on North Korea on the Real News Network. NK has well hidden nukes pointing at South Korea (they could maybe also reach Japan). And I am pretty sure they have them because China wanted them to have them. In SK the US has 25,000 soldiers and also nukes - pointing at China of course. China wants NK and SK to remain separated - they want the buffer and I can understand why. Maybe you have not paying attention to the action of the US empire and NATO - but China and also NK have. If there was ever to be a betterment of the situation it will have be through diplomacy. Neither the US nor the other Western countries (I mean the governments) care for the fate of the North Korean people. The Clinton admin reached some agreements with NK (which the US did not really fulfill) so NK started again being busy with nukes and missiles. GWB called them axis of evil. Now, while the regime is evil - so are others. And NK was at time no threat to the US. - But the empire always needs an enemy and from time to time NK gets more attention. - US citizens grew tired of hearing of the Middle East wars.
