  2. her hair was well put together, she was well groomed. The idea to POLICE the looks of young people is unheard of in other countries. If some dress would be overly sexy the teachers would give parents a call, and solve that informally. The obsession to make everyone fall in line with NORMS. Clearly they teach the kids more than knowledge or social skills. They teach black people "their place" when that particular hairstyle is outlawed, when rules are carefully formulated to move against certain traditional styles.
