  1. allegations of fraud = regionally unequal distribution of support * - and the Western accusers that of course had planned a COUP along with the neoliberals, rightwingers of Bolivia had (intentionally ?) WRONG models. OSA is dominated by the U.S. (the U.S. oligarchs that own the U.S. government). The New York Times FINALLY reported on that, but very low key ("No, acutally the result was NOT suspicious). there are strong regional difference, the affluent, "socially liberal" educated urban vote goes (more) to the neoliberals, plus there are the openly racist right wingers (against the indiginous population, not some "strangers") .... and then there is the majority that profited from the policies of Morales and they have the numbers. The media in Bolivia- viciously right wing and owned by rich people - was free to to do their thing, and Morales did not jail his opponents (but the new illegitimate coup government did), there were no kangaroo trials to exclude importan rivals (see Brazil with Lula) and the opposition was free to run against Morales. * The mail vote in Florida in 2016 went for Hillary Clinton, but Trump won the state. Kashama Sawant seemed to have lost her race in Seattle but hoped for the mail vote from the areas that had been good for her the last time. That put her over the finish line, she kept her seat. Cori Bush pulled off the same recently when she won the primary (and is set to win the general). In the same way:  The rural vote went to Evo Morales (and the result of NOW is very much aligned with the results of the last election, it retroactively confirms that the vote last time was legit). Well, the truth is the American imperialists wanted a regime change. In VZ the reduced oil prices (thanks to U.S. fracking and the Saudis playing ball) created some problemes for Russia and tremendeous problems for Venezuela. But the Lithium prices cannot be pushed down in the same manner. Bolivia can continue to lift its poor up with help of that revenue. And no one can get rich from the firesale. Not the U.S. or the Bolivian or Canadian, French, Australian, Spanish oligarchs. The upper and solid middle class people in bolivia have to put up with it that these people will continue to show up where they shop and hang out, because they can afford to. In a well set up public non-profit medical system the costs are much lower than in the U.S., and the (upper) middle class uses it of course - BUT that means they have to put up with seeing the "others". The racism in Brazil, Venezuela and Boliva should not be underestimated. Lula made concessions - but the upper class still despised him and the people he tried to lift out of poverty. So what to do about Bolivia and Chile. Well, a regime change of course. a) to eliminate the bad example that the natural resources of a country are used to better the lot of the lower income brackets b) to get their hands on the riches of the country
