  1.  Enrique Alvarez  No one burned a fed court house - some idiots tried to play arsonist - and guess what they were hindered. Enough police present for that. No one talked about defunding the police of effing DC = seat of the government of a superpower. and the good funding and resources they have or could have did nothing to avoid the chaos on Jan 6th. It was ineptitude, criminal negligence and / or intent (maybe police leadership and almost certainly from the Trump admin) DC police could arrange to have NG (5000 more) in summer just fine just in case because of BLM protests (and that was proper caution). all the funding was in vain because a) the police chiefs for some weird reasons did NOT prepare for the obvious and b) Trump and his cabinet went intentionally AWOL and did not answer phone calls. Check out the govenor of MD (he is a Republican) he waited 90 minutes for the call to have the NG of Maryland authorized - he must have that it is not like he just can send them across state borders. he waited for authorization AFTER he got a call from Steny Hoyer (MD) and Chuck Schumer that they are under siege, Capitol Police overrun and no federal troops to be seen. He and the general of the local NG tried to call (DOD - was AWOL, the Secretary of Defense did not take their phone calls - I can't imagine why not, he can't be that busy, luckily Russia and China do not take advantage of the weakness of the U.S. and Trump is not supposed to start a war in the last 2 weeks of being president). 90 minutes later governor Logan got a phone call of the secretary of the army - out of the usual chain of command, whatever.

  4.  @damaribrackett1159  Some of them waving the crowd in was a terrible sign. No sympathy for the Trump crowd - but some went with the flow, if they saw that police (some) helped them they felt validated. The more people there are (even if they are not violent) the harder it gets for police to stay in control in the beginning.

  6. Another reason antifa was NOT involved a) they KNOW their phones can be tracked (battery out or putting them in a lead case would help. Or a burner phone) and b) they would have worn masks - they even wore them before the pandemic.
