  1. What makes your think it hurts the base of Trump - it will affect poor people in Red States, yes. Younger ones (until age 49) - there is a good chance it hurts minorities and non-voters, not people voting for Republicans. And the Republicans do all they can to strip them of the ability to vote.

  2. The average SNAP benefit per person was about $126 per month. - will not do much to compensate for the trillions that were given away in tax cuts for the rich - but it is a start.

  3. it's Obamas fault - btw who says the voters of Trump are food stamp recipients. Might be many non-voters or minorities that get the food stamps. States are called "red" if the have 52 % of the VOTE for Republicans, never mind bad turnout. There are plenty of people that would vote for a left poplulist - if they let them.
