That investigation was very low profile. As is to be expected - they did not have anything substantive on Jane, let alone her husband. - From an ethical standpoint: She did not make a good figure in this. She was out of her league, trying to jumpstart that little college, the financial crisis did not help either.
She got a job with a very handsome wage and severance (she should have forgone that in my opinion). and it seems there were some favours done to a daughter, she could offer wookworking/art courses.
I assume there was something unbecoming going on and that Jane Sanders did exaggerate the pledges for donations. people in Vermont are very protective of the Sanders' so even the rich lady that allegedly had made the pledges (and does not really remember that). But that woman is not going to testify, she may not appreciate it, but she is unwilling to harm them.
That is a very interesting fact - people will not give interviews about them (like his first wife) - in total I think it means that they conducted themselves well, and people will not talk to the press at all for fear of being misquoted, or minor things being blown up.
The episode with the college is a blemish, they are not above participating in the gravy train (a little bit). But it was limited to getting Jane a well paying job and the daughter some gigs.
Sanders does not take Big corp. donations so when it comes to Vermont as state or the U.S. it will be the good of the people he has in mind. As one can see: Bernie Sanders can ALLOW himself to stubbornly push Medicare For All. Some Dems have co-sponsored the bill, not too many support it enthusiastically - only those who do not take the Big Donations like Beto. Gillum retracted after the primaries - it seems that was the price to get Obama on the stage. And Hillary Clinton and Debbie Wasserman Schulz - not sure WHO was supposed to profit of that.
