Or if rescue workers are in a zone of natural disaster. it is not like humans cannot work around these conditions in a genuine emergency and do their business in a less civilized manner. - It is the callous disregard that it is imposed on them w/o need. (a camper that goes to the bathroom in wild nature will not complain, they do so voluntarily, it is not like some higher ups literally show them that they don't give a shit about them).

1.2 million workers around the world: Yeah in France, Germany they MUST contribute to healthcare, must grant paid sick leave, and they would not be allowed to have that long shifts w/o breaks. 10 hours and 2 breaks with 15 minutes is insane even from an efficiency standpoint. health inspectors would come in and require them to have enough toilets. In France Amazon closed down last year for a few weeks. Tehy would have been allowed only to process some goods (essentials, likely not to give them an unfair advantage over retail). Peeing into bottles would notfly. The way they do surveillance would not be allowed. Likely if the company annnounces a pregnancy (of a staff member) the health inspector would show up. Not sure if they are unionized in the distribution centers, but they might have a board or workers, that is elected.

I once heard a story of a group of German soldiers that were under attack from Taliban (or other attackers). So they had to stay in a very small area for over 12 - 24 hours. I am sure taking a piss or shit was not so comfortable then, and no privacy either (they got back up by Americans than, resp. the fighters had left, but they did not know whether it was safe to come out or not, they had kelled a few Afghans, ad I think no casualties among them. He had nice things to say about the U.S. soldiers.
