  1. They will NOT ban the termination of fertilized eggs though. The anti abortion folks will tell you often that "life starts at concepton" (which is true but irrelevant, a lot of organisms and creatures are "alive"). having a (primitive)heart is also no landmark in the develpment of an embryo. Why not the kydneys or the brain ? Or the liver. Many fertilized eggs are sorted out (if they may have defects or they were successful and have too many, I guess they can keep them for a while but not that long). That would be the equivalent of an abortion, no ? Or slecting the good eggs and not taking those that could be damaged (and result in a non viable child, fetus, or in a non successful pregnancy. They forces women to carry to term if a severe genetic condition is found (let's say in month 4 or 5) but they are O.K. with letting wealthy couples (and their doctors) dispose of those eggs. They do not leave it in the hand of god there. That would affect the affluent couples that can afford fertility treatments and the doctors that make good money of it. Republican voters, that are used to getting their way while they like to tell others what to do (or at least do not mind the double standard and that the rules to not apply to them, that the politicians they vote for unleash on lower income people).
