  3. Sexual harrassment is about a few things (and it has not much to do with sex ): 1) a display of power in general. 2) To put "women in their place" especially in a professional setting, that can be unconscious or a very deliberate attempt of males to unnerve female potential competitors 3) A man derives joy from the youthful sparkle of young / attractive females (I have been told by men that they are reacting that way (I think it is a sign of virility) - but of course they enjoy the "stimulus" while observing the norms of society and politeness, and limit themself to enjoying the view w/o being to obvious about it. If a man wants more than that and if he has a power (in a professional setting) or access (that can be as trusted trainer or teacher) he can abuse that. 4) Or a man that feels attracted to women that are out of his league. Typical example: young and pretty woman, manager in his 40s or 50s. If he tried to hook up with her in a bar or when they meet in the same social circles he would have to endure to be rejected - likely in almost all cases. Unless he is really rich, still very attractive, an exceptional man (with talent or personality) or famous he will not be able to mate (or connect more intimately) out of his league of age and physical attractiveness. Now, I am sure that Joe Biden could have had his pick among young attractive consenting females for whatever degree of intimacy he wanted to have. Although frankly - I do not think many of them would have done it w/o ulterior motive. I know of few (rare) examples where a man without fame or lots of money can attract, intelligent, much younger, attractive women - and he swooned her with personality, talent, charisma and depth. One of them is a Qigong master, a little elderly, physically not attractive man who has a tall beautiful much younger wife. He is not rich either (affluent with luck), she clearly fell for his personality and flair, which he does have (the whole audience was pleasantly touched by his presentation and way of showing exercises). One female Qigong trainer (which I know well) said after the presentation: I have seen him arrive with his wife - WHAT is it with the Qigong masters and their wives ?? !! - and then the other people that heard that checked her out of course ;) - a lovely lady and a compliment to him that he was able to attract her. Ultimately it is about power and that men have to accept that they get older and their attractiveness for the opposite sex (especially the ones THEY would like to hook up with !) gets less. Time to get some wisdom ! Well many refuse to get wise - they would still like to be and behave like young men in the field of dating and flirting / interacting with females.

  4.  @eatmysteel  The Dem establishment IS SMART - they would much rather have Trump or eventually Pence who is more dangerous than Trump - than have a FDR style guy or gal in the White House. They cannot openly admit that they prefer Trump over Sanders, even Clinton loyalists among the base might find that strange. They do not like Trump's manners, he attracts too much attention to the political process, and Trump inadvertedly tells the (ugly) truth. That said: they like the tax cuts, the insane military spending, and he only said he would stop U.S. interventions, he did not make true on that. Teh Democratic politicians would not have dared to initiate the massive tax cutsf for the rich and Big Biz - so the donors that finance both parties are happy ..... The Republicans now try to solve the debt / deficit by cutting welfare, Medicare, Medicaid, SS. The Dems can put up a good show, strategically have a honorable defeat (instead of using ALL means the process in Congress and Senate offer) - and sell the few crumbs that they saved as kind of victory and the best they could do. "See - without us it would be even worse for you, such a shame we could not really do any meaningful and bold for The People. But you MUST vote for us next time or it will get even worse for you". It is a "Good cop / bad cop " routine. Trump is valuable as distraction, for the ratings of the mainstream media (during the campaign, and after the elections it was Russia, Mueller investiagtion, collusion, etc.). Trump is a strawman to beat up and to virtue signal, the Dem establishment certainly are not giving the base anything of substance that could cost the Big Donors.

  6. He likely did not grope women (in more intimate places - well, ... nothing we have heard so far), but he intruded their personal space. If a neighbour does that or a co-worker it is weird enough (and not every woman is good at saying no, if she is a people pleaser she will not want to make a stir). But the VP HAS POWER, Joe Biden has excellent connections to the powerful (party and beyond). What was that candidate supposed to do ? - throw a fit seconds before she would be going up the stage to say the final words in the race ?? Or at least decisively reprimand him ?? He has done so many times beforeit , he knew he would get away with it doing it in broad daylight. He did so when new members were sworn in (in one case before her husband - I challenge you to call me out and spoil the political career of your wife right from her start in the greater league. Everyone pretended it was "fun"). It is a subtle demonstation of power - not as vile as of Harvey Weinstein's show of power - but coming from the same mindset. I do not have to respect societal norms, I can overstep them and introde your space whenever I want. And he does so precisely WHEN a female is about to achieve a major PROFESSIONAL accomplishment (for her being elected state representative I think). It is a subtle (well not even subtle) reminder that first and foremost she is after all a woman an object to degree and that he has way more power than she has. As opposed to: She is his collegue in the party and a fellow politician and he throws his influence and name recognition around to help her get elected.

  9.  @menopassini9348  The D party establishment does not like that Sanders runs as Democrat in their primaries - but if they do not "allow" him (and for that they will be required to maintain appearances of "fairness" this time) - then it would be the option they fear even more: that he runs as Independent right away. It is a shame but they cannot directly outlaw such an option. Their best shot is to try and contain him by overwhelming him (and the voters) by sheer numbers - with lots of candidates. If the votes in the primaries can be split there is a better chance that the primary results would be inconclusive or at least narrow. In the second round it would be the superdelegates who can decide the primaries then. The grassroots have fought hard to remove their influnence at least at the first level. So when a candidate wins the primaries decisively the superdelegates do not count and funding lots and lots of candidates is a good strategy to come to less decisive wins that would eliminate the influence of the Superdelegates. Then they could achieve to beat Sanders without too obvious manipulation. He does not need their money, their contacts to the media, their big donors, or the party machine. So they cannot control him. If they refuse to let him participate in the Democratic primaries - he could run as third party right from spring 2015 - with D candidates getting underwhelming responses in the primaries - which would set Sanders up (and not the De candidate) as the safer bet against Trump. Sanders has better name recognition than all of them with the exception of Joe Biden, which is no match for Sanders. A successful third party presidential race would set a very dangerous precedent for the Big-Money-In_politcs_circus. Plus of course having a POTUS that is for FDR styple policies (and might do an FDR in general). They are lucky that he is not younger. But Sanders better have excellent security. The U.S. has a tradition of assassination "happening" to (potential) game changers.
