  1. The stealing required of course changes in the code, and it is not like a mean coder was bored and started doing that on his own. A lot of management was involved. I guess also that an employee that knew about it blew the whistle.

  2. The federal minimum wage is 7.25 since 2009 (has lost 14.8 purchasing power since then). BUT: there is the outrageous practice of "tipped minimum wage". In the states that allow it: it is 2.25 (yes: 2.25). In theory the employers have to add to compensate for the gap if the tips do not help the employee to reach at least 7.25. over what time ? one shift ? One month ? One year ? At all ? - such a wage only allows bad entrepreneurs to keep open for long hours because they have almost no wage costs and can skim off a little revenue - on the back of staff. I am convinced that is not paid often. If the rules apply that is obviously a region that does not offer a lot of jobs, so how would staff complain if they got screwed. But coming from Amazon it is even worse. Remember their subsidy extraction scheme for HQ2 ? NYC dodged a bullet.

  3. Note that the 18 - 25 USD per hour must ALSO finance a VEHICLE. and probably a commercial vehicle. It is not as good as it sounds as wage. Never mind: You. Do. Not. Steal. Tips.
