he will be 80 in December, imagine that. Does exercise, only he gets to little sleep and thrives on caffeine while he works till late night. He says it is also genetic, one parent lived till 97. - Trump must be so jealous.

Nothing like gasping for air and DESPERATELY needing the help of a nurse (whose hair you don't see anyway) to sort out your priorities - like how other people look.

@okkietrooy7941 Dr. Fauci is a masterful diplomat. Imagine you have your 80th birthday ahead in Dec. 2020, had a distinguished career - and now have to babysit Trump, (and woe the idiot-in-chief into some compliance). Plus he has to deal with the underhanded attacks. Trump does not dare to attack him too openly, so his goons attack Fauci instead. They did that recently, you bet they had polls on that, and found it it did not stick.

worse than ever during the pandemic - that is a legit statement considering that we have NOW an effective protection.

How many died per million residents ? 6 ! in South Korea, 110 in Germany (not too bad in Europe), 550 in Sweden (their elderly pay the price for the differen approach), 690 in the U.K. and 490 in the U.S. Or 81 in Austria.

The U.S. is the only rich country where the graph (deaths) is going up as always, it is a straight line (that shows what is going on 2 - 5 weeks in the past - but new infections right now don't look good, and then there are the schools opening. A disaster waiting to happen. Even UK and Sweden have now "flattened" the curve (of deaths). I am not even sure if the U.S. numbers are reliable.

@thipphonthip6788 you should fight for getting help. Fauci does his job, and Trump and congress and Senate do their job. Not fighting Fauci because the necessary ! measures cause economic problems. That's not his job, and that there are economic problems does not negate that he is right.

I think there are not that many registered nurses or and even fewer doctors that refuse it. And they are now coerced into vaccinating anyway. Admin staff and aides maybe (I heard a stats recently can't recall the details - but the number of vaccine sceptics among RN's was lower than among aides. The few outspoken anti vax nurses are hyped up. You cannot work on the frontline and SEE the difference it made once the shots were rolled out. And the wave (of unvaccinated) coming back, with much younger people. I have not seen stats - but doctors in other states (or countries) say the same: Our patients in critical care are DIFFERENT now than 1 year ago. Younger and with no special risks - and unvaccinated. You have to be very very biased and being anti vax must be a deep part of your identity to maintain that double think - if reality hits you every day in the job.

I do protest on behalf of chimpanzees, baboons, and other primates ! (knuckle dragging, but they cant help it).

it is interesting how strong the culture is. Reminds me of the saying: most people do well under adversity, but the real challenge for them is if they get power.

Thank you !

@thipphonthip6788 a youtube commenter or Dr. Fauci does not have the power of government, but the Trump admin could put pressure on Congress and Senate to bail out citizens and smaller biz. They do not want to do it and Dems are hardly better than Repubs. They have served their common donors, some bones to the voters, small biz go the short end of the stick.

Who said it would last till 2025 ?? I remember 12 - 18 months, some cautioned it could last 2 years (with some bad luck). But never 2025.

I assume many of these arsonists got their shots. The gov. of Florida got them publicly (and saw to it that his rich buddies could skip the line when they were still scarce).

Of those arrested. The more their county voted for Trump the less likely it is they felt the urge to go to Washington to arrange things as they want to have them. - So it is not only about "Trump should be president". Intuitively one would think the Trump hotspots created most insurrectionist. But no - it is those that see that elections do not go their way and also sense in their environment that their stance is not appreciated that throw a tantrum. Like in the South in the 1960s they knew there was a sizeable number of black folks and staying on top of them - also numbers wise so THEY would determine how a county, state, country would be run. That was the main driver of fierce resistance.

@CirTap Well that is a shame, because I found the comment of +Rick Memmer interesting - although some extra paragrpahes (white space) would be a good idea.

@sherrylienable answer will be too late for this person - but for all others - if the 2nd shot is due the next days the immune system already had some time to create antibodies (they have 3 - 4 weeks between the shots). Usually young people STILL have little risks when they are healthy. The virus may not even be deadlier for young(er) people (according to a German doctor) - it seems like that if you look at WHO ends up in the ICU and dies now. There is some "selection" going on, because the high risk patients got their shots and that is enough protection to at least pervent the worst outcomes, even IF they get a breakthrough. Now the virus spreads among the unvaccinated. If the case numbers are high enough, there will be plenty of not too bad cases AND there will be a higher number of bad cases too, it is a numbers game. The virus is now much more contagious so it "finds" all corners of the country, it finds the vulnerable among the unvaccinated in addition to the unvaccinated that do O.K. when they get it. At the very least mask up, and do not attend any social gatherings afterwards. And test afterwards - even if you have a harmless infection (harmless for YOU) you do not want to be a spreader.

When they use the rules of triage they might run into legal trouble if they do not select the patients with the best chances to survive. And young obstinant anti vaxxers might be the lucky ones. Robbing other older patients (or those with other conditions) that did their part to protect themselves from a fighting chance. That already happend. For instance in August: Man in Alabama was sent home (likely a shady measure already, they were overwhelmed in general not only critical care) his heart conditions worsened and he came back in "his" hospital. They did not have a free bed for the specialized care he needed, called 43 other hospitals. He needed a 200 mile ride to get to a hospital with a free bed. And he died a few days later. Time is of the essence in emergencies.
