Because Israel is there as a home for Jewish people. Jews have been persecuted, massacred, libelled, lied about, defamed, expelled, for well nigh on 3000 years, and they desperately needed a place to call home. Israel was the Jewish homeland until the Romans destroyed their 2nd Temple and most of the population. So a very small part of it was given back to them in 1948. Unlike in every other country, Jewish people are permanently welcome there. But you are right. 20% of the population of Israel is Islamic; about 10% Christian, many are Druze, and the rest are Jewish. It is only called a "Jewish" state because - as I think I said earlier - it is the only country in the world where the government will not turn against the Jewish population. It is the only place that is truly a Jewish homeland. There are over 50 Muslim countries, and many western countries where the population is largely Christian, and one Jewish country. Look at what is happening now: Canada, Australia, the US, UK, France - all are turning against their Jewish populations even while Iran's proxies are bombing Israel every day. Not one of those countries will actively help Israel. Not even one of them has asked Hezbollah to stop its daily missile attacks on Israel. So where do the Jewish people pack up and go to? Israel. Where they will always be welcome. Although it is being attacked daily. The only Jewish country on this planet. Read Jewish history if you want details and more understanding. 😊
